The Elder Scrolls VI May Be Called Sentinel, with Bethesda Possibly Confirming the Title in November

According to new information from journalist Tom Warren, the eagerly awaited next installment in The Elder Scrolls series could be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. Bethesda could officially confirm the game’s title as soon as November.

Warren says his sources indicate that an announcement of the game’s title is in the works, though he doesn’t expect a more extensive reveal at this point. So it’s not expected to include gameplay footage or a major reveal of further details, but will primarily confirm the title.

Sentinel is reportedly set in Hammerfell, the homeland of the Redguards. The title also makes sense in the context of the series’ world, as Sentinel is one of Hammerfell’s major cities.

The game’s story focus is also said to be noteworthy. According to available information, the new installment is expected to focus more heavily on the history of the Elder Scrolls themselves—the mysterious ancient scrolls the series is named after. The game could gradually reveal more about their origins, workings, and secrets.

Bethesda first announced The Elder Scrolls VI back in 2018, but has released very little concrete information about the game since. If the reports are confirmed, a November announcement could mark the first significant update on the game in years. And if Bethesda offers this kind of tease in November, we might see a new trailer at the Video Game Awards in December.
