The new year has started and let's look at what the biggest games we can expect this year. This year we can expect a richer selection of big games than last year and we have chosen a series of the most anticipated. Some interesting ones have already been released, such as Dead Space Remake or the surprise of the beginning of the year Hi-Fi Rush. Let's look at the others coming up.
Starfield
One of the biggest games this year will be Starfield, a new title from Bethesda, the creators of Skyrim or Fallout. This time they will transport us to a time when humanity colonized space and is trying to survive in it. We can expect thousands of planets, a vast story, and many possibilities.
Hogwarts Legacy
Another big game will be the return to the world of Harry Potter in the game Hogwarts Legacy. This will take us to Hogwarts, 100 years before the story of Harry Potter. We will enter it as a new student and get to know this peculiar school. The game will be released on February 10th on PC and new consoles, and later on old consoles and the Switch.
Alan Wake II
During the year, Alan Wake, a writer whose works become reality, will return. The details of the new story have not been announced yet, but a small town has already been teased where we will go.
Stalker 2: Shadow of Chornobyl
The creators of Stalker have it tough now as Russia is attacking their country and they had to work in shelters and create a second studio out of reach of the missiles. Meanwhile, they have returned to work and want to pull us into the zone this year.
Forza Motorsport
For fans of motorsports, a new Forza Motorsport will come, which will take the series to the next generation. With improved graphics with ray tracing support, as well as improved physics. At release, it will have 500 cars and 20 environments. The game has not yet received a date, but will be released sometime this year.
Redfall
If you like open worlds and vampires, Arkane studio will combine them in their Redfall game. It will pull us into an island controlled by vampires, where you will try to survive and eliminate the threat alone or with friends in cooperative mode. The release is already planned for May.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Nintendo will already bring the long-awaited continuation of the hit Breath of the Wild this year. The game will come in May and again send us to the open environment from the first game and new adventures.
Atomic Heart
For fans of Bioshock and the new Wolfenstein, you can expect a combination of these games in the title Atomic Heart. It offers an interesting environment of a secret research base controlled by killer robots and plenty of combat with unconventional weapons.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
The open world genre will also be expanded by the planet Pandora with its blue characters in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It is to be released this year and will offer new stories about the battle between the Na'vi and humans.
Assassin's Creed: Mirage
Ubisoft will also bring a new game to the Assassin's Creed series. This time, however, it will be different from the last parts and will instead return to the series' basics. It will offer a smaller world, a focus on stealth and blending into crowds.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Insomniac will bring a full-fledged sequel to their Spider-Man this fall, combining both characters from the previous games and offering the largest Spider-Man game to date. More details will be revealed, but if you like Spider-Man games, definitely don't miss it.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty
Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a big expansion this year, in which the authors will pull us into a new part of the city and Idris Elba will join Keanu Reeves. He will introduce us to the world of spies in Night City.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Star Wars fans will be pleased with the arrival of Jedi Survivor, which will again draw players into the story of Cal Kestis. The game now moves 5 years into the future, where he is still running from the empire and Order 66. However, he is now stronger with expanded options.
Tempest Rising
There will be plenty of strategy games this year, with both Men of War 2 and Company of Heroes 3 coming, but if you want something more futuristic and even something like the successor of Command and Conquer, be sure to check out Tempest Rising. It looks very promising.
Final Fantasy XVI
Square Enix will bring a new continuation to their Final Fantasy series this summer. This time it will be a full-fledged sequel with the number 16 and will come exclusively on the PS5. The game will not be in an open world and will be more tightly story-driven, where we will move through time during the game and meet the main character at different ages.
Diablo IV
If you prefer Western RPG games, Blizzard is finally bringing Diablo IV, which will continue where Diablo III left off. This time, it will be a return to the series' roots with an open world, multiplayer and a more sinister tone.
Dead Island 2
The long-awaited sequel to the zombie action game Dead Island is finally coming out. This time, it won't be on an island but Los Angeles overrun by zombies will serve just as well. Expect a vast environment, fun, and hundreds to thousands of undead.
Lies of P
What happens when Pinocchio's story meets the Victorian world and souls gameplay? Lies of P will show us. In it, we control the mechanoid Pinocchio who must find Geppetto in a dark city.
Baldur's Gate 3
For fans of classic RPGs, the Baldur's Gate series returns with its third installment. Although it won't be isometric 2D like the previous games, the developers tried to preserve the series' atmosphere and gameplay.
Resident Evil 4 remake
Capcom continues its quality Resident Evil remakes and this year, it's the fourth's turn. It's the first title in the series to bring a third-person view and the differences won't be as different, but the developers will improve the graphics and add new features to the gameplay.
Silent Hill 2
Alongside Resident Evil, this year also brings the remake of Silent Hill 2, the classic from Konami, which was given to the Polish Bloober for a makeover. Bloober already has several quality horror games such as Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, or The Medium, and we can expect it to work similarly on Silent Hill.
Street Fighter 6
If you love fighting games, don't miss the new Street Fighter 6, which continues its animated style but at the same time advances with an interesting facelift and evolution of the combat system.
Skull and Bones
Ubisoft will finally bring the long-delayed pirate online game Skull and Bones this year. It will take us to the golden age of pirates and specifically to the Indian Ocean, where the Caribbean was the second paradise for pirates. We will set sail with our crew and destroy merchant ships, other pirates, trade and everything that goes with it.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
If you liked the Batman Arkham series, its developers will bring Suicide Squad this year, which will put us on the other side of the barricade. We will take control of a unit of villains against both Superman and Batman.
Minecraft Legends
We'll close it all with a new game in the Minecraft series and that is Minecraft Legends. This time, the block world will be pushed into the strategy genre, where we will lead and control small minions with our character, build fortresses with them, and play both the campaign and multiplayer battles.
