Xbox and Bethesda revealed new information about the highly anticipated fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls VI on November 3, 2026. The game has been subtitled Sentinel, with its reveal coming almost exactly 15 years after Skyrim was released. More than eight years have passed since the title of the sixth installment was first announced at E3 2018.
The short video offered only a brief glimpse of the upcoming game. It focused mainly on a sandy environment and sand physics before revealing the title, Sentinel. The footage also featured a quote attributed to Yazar, a Moth Priest in the court of Queen Iradne of Hammerfell: “The prophecy offered me only a glimpse, a veil lifted for a moment before my eyes. A lost future. A twisted victory. The sands of time scattered by fate.”
The video also marked 40 years since Bethesda Game Studios was founded. The developers thanked players for their support and for embracing the worlds and stories of their games over the decades. They also hinted that they want to continue creating new adventures.
The reveal follows recent reports that The Elder Scrolls VI would be unveiled in November. Those reports had already mentioned the title Sentinel and the setting of Hammerfell. The game is said to explore the history of the Elder Scrolls themselves and the uncovering of ancient artifacts’ secrets. The new footage supports this information, but has yet to offer more specific details about the story or gameplay.
After a long wait, Bethesda has finally revealed the game’s subtitle and hinted at its setting. It has not yet announced a release date or platforms.
