Dave Bautista Has Gained 9 Kilograms of Muscle for His Role as Kratos

Actor Dave Bautista revealed that he has gained around 9 kilograms for his role as Kratos in Amazon’s upcoming God of War series. In an Instagram post, he also showed his current weight of 250 pounds, or approximately 113 kilograms.

Bautista landed the role in August, replacing Ryan Hurst. Hurst injured his biceps while filming a stunt scene and had to leave the project due to the expected length of his recovery.

In early September, Bautista posted a video showing his physical transformation. At the time, he said he had been working out for three weeks and had another two months to get into the required shape. According to his latest post, he used that time to build muscle.

During his WWE wrestling career, Bautista maintained a weight of around 132 kilograms. In recent years, however, he has lost a significant amount of weight and muscle mass to broaden his acting opportunities and feel more comfortable on camera. After his casting as Kratos was announced, some fans questioned whether he was right for the character. His latest transformation suggests that Bautista is taking his preparation for the role seriously.
