Gamescom Awards 2026 handed out, CD Projekt RED and SEGA win three awards each8/28/2026

The organizers of Gamescom have announced the winners of the gamescom awards 2026. Awards were presented in 19 categories, with CD Projekt RED and SEGA emerging as the most successful companies, taking home three awards each. Capcom and Ubisoft won two awards apiece.
CD Projekt RED found success with the return of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The remaster’s trailer, together with the Songs of the Past DLC, won the award for Best Trailer or Announcement, the themed pin and medallion won the Best Merchandising category, and the game’s presentation also received the jury award for Best Booth.
SEGA won the award for Best Game Lineup, while Alien: Isolation 2 won the Best Audio category and Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 was named the Best PC Game.
Capcom scored with Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which won the awards for Best Gameplay and Best PlayStation Game. Other winners included Forza Horizon 6 as Best Xbox Game, Rayman Legends Retold as Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game, and Where Winds Meet as Best Mobile Game. The award for Best Visuals went to METRO 2039.

The organization Games Done Quick (GDQ) received the special Heart of Gaming award. GDQ’s charity speedrunning events have raised more than $50 million in the past. A European GDQ event will also take place for the first time from August 28 to 30, directly as part of Gamescom. This time, proceeds from donations and sponsorships will go to the Gaming for Democracy initiative, which supports democratic values and civic engagement through gaming culture.
