Sony Unveils Transparent DualSense Controllers and PS5 Covers in New Prism Collection
The collection includes three color options for controllers and PS5 covers. Pre-orders open on November 10, 2026, with a February release planned.
Sony has unveiled a new collection of accessories for PlayStation 5 called the Prism Collection. It features transparent DualSense controllers and matching PS5 console covers in three color options. Pre-orders open on November 10, with the products set to launch in February next year.
The Prism Collection is a modern take on transparent electronics, which were especially popular in the late 1990s. According to Sony’s designers, the company wanted to bring back this style while adapting it to the industrial design of the current PlayStation 5 generation.
The collection comes in three color options: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. Each has a high-gloss transparent body that partially reveals the controller’s internal structure.
Flare Orange features a bold orange color that takes on a subtle pink hue where the transparent material overlaps. Emerald Green offers a deep green, while Graphite Gray has a more subdued gray look reminiscent of smoked glass.
Sony has also applied a metallic finish to the center section of the DualSense, designed to connect the transparent and opaque surfaces while retaining the controller’s premium look.
The same three color options will also be available as replaceable PlayStation 5 console covers. Players will be able to match their console and controller in the same design.
Sony will sell them primarily through its own PlayStation Direct store, while limited quantities are also expected to be available from other retailers in select regions.
Pre-orders for the Prism Collection will open on November 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time through PlayStation Direct in supported countries and at select retailers. The collection is scheduled to launch starting February 4, 2027. Sony also notes that the exact date and availability of individual products may vary by country and region.
Slovakia is not currently among the countries where PlayStation Direct sells products directly, so the availability of the new controllers and covers will depend mainly on local retailers.
