Steam continues to be a major source of revenue for Valve.

Of the estimated $15 billion, approximately $1 billion comes from the six best-performing new games released on Steam this year. That amounts to just 6.6% of the platform’s total revenue. Expanding the ranking to the 100 best-performing new games raises the figure to approximately $2.4 billion, or 15.9% of Steam’s total revenue.
So far, Forza Horizon 6 has generated the most revenue for Valve among the new games, bringing the company approximately $210.5 million, according to estimates by Alinea Analytics. It is followed by Crimson Desert with an estimated $203.3 million, while third place goes to Resident Evil Requiem with approximately $200.9 million.
The data on new IPs is also interesting. Two of the six best-performing new games, Crimson Desert and Meccha Chameleon, are entirely new IPs. However, Crimson Desert has a significant impact on the overall figures. According to the analysis, the game accounts for approximately 18% of revenue from new IPs, so excluding it reduces the share of new IPs in the group being analyzed from 63% to 39%.
Several major releases that could significantly shake up the rankings are still scheduled for release before the end of the year. These include Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Phantom Blade Zero.
It should be emphasized, however, that these are analytical estimates by Alinea Analytics, not official figures from Valve. The $15 billion figure also represents Valve’s estimated share of sales of games, DLC, and software on Steam, not the total revenue generated by developers and publishers through the platform.
