PS5 Pro Could Be Hard to Find Through the End of the Year, and GTA VI Isn’t Helping

According to information Sony is reportedly sharing with retailers, the PS5 Pro could remain in limited supply until early 2027. The company is expected to continue taking a more cautious approach to shipments due to memory prices and won’t force the issue. Sony reported this earlier, and its CEO commented that the company has sold enough consoles and wants to make more money from them.

The November release of GTA VI could make the supply situation even worse. Reports say interest in the PS5 Pro has already increased following the game’s latest showcases, and several retailers have sold out. Listings priced several hundred euros above the recommended retail price have even appeared.

Retailers expect more PS5 Pro shipments in the coming weeks, but these are likely to be smaller, irregular batches rather than a full restock. Sony has not yet said how many consoles it can get into stores before the end of the year.
