Gamescom 2026: HyperX showcases its latest products9/27/2026
What products can we look forward to later this year?
|
As usual, Gamescom also gives us the chance to check out new hardware, not just games. This year, we visited the HyperX booth, where we got to see and try out both freshly announced gaming accessories and familiar products that we’ve already reviewed over the course of the year. The section also featured new Omen laptops, including a visually striking limited edition created in collaboration with League of Legends. Omen unveiled a wide range of laptop screen sizes and performance tiers. Screen sizes range from 15“ to 17“, with maximum device performance increasing along with screen size. Cooling has been improved and maximum TDP raised across every category. As for graphics cards, you can choose from models ranging from the RTX 5050 to the flagship 17“ model with an RTX 5090 and more than 300 W TDP. It remains to be seen which of these laptops will be available in our market.
Gaming OLED monitors have also been upgraded, and are now slightly thicker. The reason is simple: they now feature active cooling to help prevent pixel burn-in as much as possible. The lineup will include several standard and ultrawide screen sizes. The main highlights, however, were the new HyperX Cloud Alpha Air headset and the ultra-lightweight HyperX Pulsefire Haste 3 Pro mouse. The Origins 2 and Origins 2 GS keyboard series were also on display, and we’re already preparing a review of the latter. At first glance, and after a quick hands-on, the keyboards felt well made. We were particularly intrigued by their unusual construction, made from semi-transparent matte plastic. This allowed the lighting to spread nicely around the edges of the keyboard without looking cheap or distracting.
The HyperX Cloud Alpha Air stands out primarily for its technical design: it’s the first gaming headset from HyperX to feature an open-back design. To reduce weight, the headset is wired only, and HyperX is working to bring its sound quality closer to that of full-size HiFi headphones. As with the brand’s other headsets, you get the usual full range of settings through the NGENUITY software. Open-back headphones often struggle to deliver deep bass, but HyperX has addressed this too. The headset features special Bass Tube technology, designed to deliver strong, deep bass despite its construction. It also sits very comfortably on the head. The choice of suede ear cushions is another plus, as they should make the headset much more durable than standard leather alternatives. The estimated price is around 150 euros, and it should be available later this year.
The second new product was the ultra-lightweight HyperX Pulsefire Haste 3 Pro gaming mouse. We’ve already reviewed the standard Pulsefire Haste 3, but the difference was immediately noticeable when we first picked up the new Pro model. It’s hard to believe just how much lighter wireless mice can get: this version weighs just 47 grams. This was achieved largely through the use of a carbon-fiber construction. The mouse uses the precise HyperX Performance Sensor, offering acceleration of up to 70 G, a maximum DPI of up to 42,000, and 800 IPS, while the polling rate can reach up to 8 kHz. Battery life is expected to be around 35 hours at the maximum polling rate, or up to 150 hours at a 1 kHz polling rate. It should cost around 130 euros and be available later this year.
We also have to commend HyperX on one of the most beautifully designed booths, which took an oasis as its theme. It was a real pleasure to spend a little time in a green oasis outdoors after a full day inside the exhibition hall.
