007 First Light is getting a major free DLC, Extended Operations, which adds several features and new content requested by the community. IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios are bringing New Game+, a new 00 difficulty, Photo Mode, improved weapon handling animations and new TacSim missions to the game.
New Game+ unlocks after completing the campaign on any difficulty. Players can then replay the story from the beginning or from any completed checkpoint, with outfits and gadgets unlocked. New Game+ also unlocks a new 00 difficulty, which significantly toughens combat, stealth and social situations.
Enemies on the highest difficulty react faster to bodies and distractions, stronger guard variants appear, and gadget use is restricted when Bond is in their line of sight. Combat is less forgiving, as enemies can kill Bond in two hits, while the window for parrying or dodging is shorter.
New content has also been added to TacSim. The four-mission Valhalla Protocol sends Bond to the Slovak mountains, where he gets behind the wheel of an Aston Martin Valhalla. Players can drive by day and night, and the car is equipped with weapons Bond uses in the main campaign. Players can use them to take out targets and earn time bonuses.
Bond also returns to the Vietnamese resort of The Pearl, where he must infiltrate a guarded villa and obtain classified documents. The entire complex, including the rooftop, is now playable, and the villa’s interior has been reworked to offer more stealth options. TacSim also now provides access to the full arsenal from the main campaign.
One of the most requested additions is Photo Mode, which lets players pause the action at any time and take their own shots. It offers control over character, camera and lens positions, brightness, filters and other visual elements.
Finally, Extended Operations improves weapon handling animations and adds one unpleasant new twist for Bond himself. Until now, only his opponents could be knocked off cliffs; now, Agent 007 can meet the same fate.
